Lock Assy

Beitrag von Hechicero77 »

Hello, brothers in FW! =)
Is here somebody, who repaired "Lock Assy, Steering" - or somebody, who know how could take him off?
Or somebody, who know how the mount of lock assy is looked )

I think, it is nesserary to explain my questions.
Before moto-"hibernation", some bad man tried to steel my motocycle. But he was weak and his deal failed.
unfortunately, hi broke "Lock Assy"..
My friend found a spare part by its number in FW-manual and shipped it to me.

I cannot yet to take broken part, but it sseems to me, that the part, wchich i received not to suit to my moto..

What can you say about it?

P.s. I know, that the part is not original =) but can i use it on FW? =)

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that you're right and that's the wrong lock. Can you take a picture of the other side with the locking pin? Maybe it fits anyway. (By the way, "Lock Assy" is just short for "lock assembly", meaning that you'll get the whole thing including the electrical switch, lock cylinder and so on which you can't buy separately.)

I'm not so sure if you can get the lock on the aftermarket at all, I've tried and didn't succeed. But maybe your friend can ask the provider if they are able to supply the real thing.

Hi Hechicero77

nice to head from you.

A couple of weeks ago I removed the lock assembly. Well, I am not sure, but it looks like, that the lock mounting is different to the original one. Furthermore the lock you have has 4 wires. I remember that the original one has 6 wires installed, but I am not rearly sure.
Do you known at which model your lock was installed/removed?
If possible, please post the partnumber stamped on the lock.

The original Suzuki partnumber is 3710004F00 or 3710004F10

Greeting to Rusia

That´s me again

I have had a look to the wiring diagram http://www.xf650.de/forum3/viewtopic.php?p=20452#p20452

Please look for the word "Zündschalter" at the wiring diagram and you will see, that the original lock has 6 wires instead of 4 you have at your lock.
So your dealer has sent the wrong one :x

Vaty
