Hi Melitos
The sticker "Motorcycle Race Use Only" is very important for German and Austrian Police and TÜV.
What did you pay for them?

Thanks for your comments.
I am not aware of any other Freewind with different carburettors.
However some British have fitted round slide Keihin CR33 to CCM 644 motorbikes which use Freewind engine.
Here is CCM 644 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jgH3Z10Bic
And here Keihin CR33 for CCM with Freewind engine https://www.allensperformance.co.uk/news/page/3/
I think I will remove the sticker
Luckily we have no TÜV for motorcycles in Finland. Also the Police are not too interested as long as you don't drive like stupid and not too loud exhaust.
Price for pair of Keihin FCR33 with fittings was more than what I paid for the whole bike when I bought it...
Well over 1000 eur.
Keihin FCR or CR are probably the only options. Pair of Mikuni TM would be cheaper than FCR, but unfortunately cannot be built to such narrow space.

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
I am still alive, and so is my Freewind Scrambler.
It has been quite an effort to set the new carburettors properly. Had to special order new jet needles from Japan to lean the mixture. Jets I can buy from Finland but not the jet needles. Covid 19 is not really helping with delivery time for parts. I have had PLX wideband O2 sensor in the exhaust with bluetooth connection so that I can see mixture from my phone (which I have had attached to handle bars).
Now I have very good low speed cruising around town with smooth ride from 2500rpm and good acceleration all the way to rev limiter. Huge improvement over the original Mikunis even though some further tuning might be needed.
I also had a leak in my fuel tank which I noticed late last year so I used POR-15 tank sealer to coat the inside of the tank. The outside also got new professional paint with lots of flakes
The picture was taken already many weeks ago during first ride with new carburettors (and bike running with very rich mixture).

Also special thanks for the forum members
'AoS' https://www.lucasmatic.de/
and
'Knüppi' https://karasche.wordpress.com/
for their blogs that were the reason why I chose Freewind for my scrambler conversion in 2017. T&T tacho wiring diagram and conversion story of 'Karasche' blog were very helpful!

Many thanks for the inspiration!

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
Hello again
New exhaust, larger diameter manifold from the well known German Suzuki enduro specialist. Self-made connecting pipe and titanium silencer from 2002 GSXR 1000 (weight ~2.1 kg). Also cover for rear brake master cylinder including bracket for Honda HRC style brake fluid reservoir (only a short clear hose with cap).

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
Just found your posting: I like your bike!
I also have a muffler like this, but haven't installed it yet. My bike isn't quite ready yet. And we also have the TÜV here...
My question: is this GSXR exhaust really much louder than the standard one? If so, I can save myself the work of fitting here in Germany.
Thanks

Thank you for your comments.
Regarding the muffler, it is louder than standard, but not too loud in my mind. I have not heard standard XF exhaust sound since 2017 so I cannot comment the difference in details.
Perhaps the user Vau_Zwo can help you better. Here is his conversion with GSXR exhaust viewtopic.php?p=46670#p46670

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
Hello Melitos, could you please give me the Freewind's carburettor pitch? I'have seen here in Switzerland a Mikuni RS34 ramp for sale and I wonder if I can tweak it for my XF?
Cheers, Solomon

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
Hello,
The carburettor spacing is 66mm center to center if you use original Suzuki inlet rubbers. If you plan to make new inlet manifold, the spacing of inlet channels in the cylinder head is about 62mm. The original inlet rubbers are offset and move carburettors outward about 2mm each. If you proceed with the Mikuni RS34, please make a topic in this forum so we all can learn more.

Re: Scrambler aus Finnland (leider auf Englisch)
Thanks mate
It's funny cause as fare as I remember pitch on SRX/XT is as well 66mm.
I think I'm gonna give it a try, it's gonna be challenging cause RS carbs are big. The overall frame is the same for a 34 or a 40 and without milling or grinding you can't go easily under 68mm!
Anyway I'll try to get this ramp and will do what I can, I'll keep you posted

Ok I won the auction, the carbs should be at home by the weekend. I have nearly rebuild the bike and I have the felling the next step will be to strip it >:->
