Hi, I have a leak from this plug and bought a new one.

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/s ... 25007.html

There is a recessed part there, what direction should this recessed area point?

Hi Simon
I had the same problem with the direction of build in.
In conclusion i dont know the correct direction.
I putted the part in my freewind with the open side down.
It is not leaking and it works.

Kind regards from Austria.

Thanks. So I put it the wrong way. Maybe that's why I get a leak? They don't mention it in the manual. Nice instructions in this post.

In the drriders forum someone says to put it upward. I don't know what is right, what is your reason for this direction?

In the picture from the wbdz's link the part looks with the open end down.

It's been a long time since I have done the head gasket, but then I found out the recess should go down. I think it helps with inserting the cam shaft and lets oil flow downwards.
