Greetings, I dont speak German but I will use a translater online so the German might not be that good.
SEHR froh, dem ich Ihr Forum fand! Ich wohne in Südafrika und kaufte ein Freewind. Denken Sie, dass ich das einzige im Land haben konnte. Ich lecke Öl von, dem das Frontseitenkettenrad mit der Maschine verbindet. Ich nahm alles auseinander und es scheint, wie ich die Maschine öffnen muss, um die Dichtung zu ersetzen. Ist dieses zutreffende?

I live in South Africa and bought a Freewind. Think that I might have the only one in the country. I am leaking oil from where the front sprocket links to the engine. I took everything apart and it seems like I will have to open the engine to replace the seal. Is this true?

Thanks for your response.
I am working night shift at the moment but will take a picture when I get home.
There is a shaft that links the front sprocket into the engine. There is a seal there. The oil is leaking out from that seal. It seems like I might have to crack the engine open and put that seal in from the inside?
Make sense?

Behind the front sprocket is a shaft seal. This one can replaced from the outside.
But that´s not your real problem. The main reason should be a damaged ball-bearing caused by bad chain tension.
And this one (or better both) have to replaced from inside.
You have to disassemble the whole engine, hard work, in my case this would be the dead end of the engine.

There is some probability that the shaft bearing is damaged, but it doesn't have to be. From my experience a damaged drive shaft bearing is quite loud, there would be a peculiar grinding noise which seems to come from the chain or sprocket.
So listen carefully, if there isn't any unusual mechanical noise then I would give it a try and repair the seal from the outside.
Be careful with the seal, it is damaged quite easily and mustn't be pushed too far into the casing. Note how deep the old seal is set and don't push the new any deeper, not under any circumstances! A really big washer between the seal and any tool you use to push might be useful. Wrap the shaft in some plastic foil before you push the seal on, the teeth on the shaft may damage the seal. And use grease or vaseline. I think it's sensible to glue the seal in, use some liquid seal for that.
By the way, the part is available only via Suzuki, the dimensions are non-standard.

Thanks for the replies.
There is no loud noise.
The leaking does get worse if I ride faster.
Been going through this forum with a translater and have realised that I should be using synthetic oil!
I will service the bike tomorrow night and put the recommended oil in and see if that might help.
Will also order the seal and replace it.
Going riding in Mozambique this weekend so I will just have to keep topping up the oil till the seal arrives.

Dank für die Antworten. Es gibt keine lauten Geräusche. Das Lecken erhält schlechter, wenn ich schneller reite. , durchlaufend dieses Forum mit einem Übersetzer und haben festgestellt, dass ich synthetisches Öl benutzen sollte! Ich halte das Fahrrad morgen Abend instand und setze das empfohlene Öl innen und sehe, wenn das helfen konnte. Auch bestellt die Dichtung und ersetzt sie. Gehendes Reiten in Mosambik dieses Wochenende also ich muss nur das, Öl aufzuschichten halten, bis die Dichtung ankommt. Dank wieder

Interessant ist auch, dass die Originalkette scheinbar auch von DID kommt.
