Hi everyone. When I bought my Freewind one of the previous owners had lowered the bike and changed the kick stand to the silver short one. Is it difficult to return the suspension to the original height? Is the a thread that does a step by step procedure? Do I need to find spacers for the forks and the original stand etc?
Cheers
Steve
Anyone know how to raise the suspension?
Re: Anyone know how to raise the suspension?
We've got a how-to for the fork Sitzhöhenverstellugn an der Gabel, but it's in German obviously. I think nobody took the pains to do another how-to for the rear swing arm, because that's rather straightforward.
It might be a good idea to get a service manual for the bike (pdf-ed versions exist), and it is useful for many other tasks. There you find the explanations for the whole procedure. The manual mentions some special tools, but in the thread I linked above Brummbär explains how to get around without them.
The procedure by itself is reversible, no additional parts are necessary and none are thrown out (and lost), but you'll need the black stand.
HTH,
Dirk

Thanks for that. Its a much simpler job than I thought. Any thoughts where I could find an original stand?

Used parts dealers, Ebay, Suzuki.
http://bike-teile.de/ This is a German online service where various used parts dealers offer their stocks. Look for "Seitenständer", right now it lists four stands. You'll have to ask the individual suppliers if they ship down under.
